Google Ads Management Pricing in South Africa: What to Expect
How Google Ads management is priced in South Africa: fee models, what is included, what ad spend costs, and the questions to ask before you sign.
Google Ads costs you two separate things: the management fee you pay an agency, and the ad spend you pay Google. They are different bills. Mixing them up is how most people misjudge the cost.
This guide explains how management is priced, what a fair fee should include, and what to ask before you sign.
Two costs to budget for
Ad spend is what Google charges for clicks. You set the budget. It should be paid by your own card directly to Google.
Management fee is what the agency charges to build, run and improve the account. This is the number on an agency’s price list.
If an agency bundles both into one figure, ask for them to be split. You should always be able to see what goes to Google.
How agencies charge for management
Flat monthly fee. A fixed price each month, often tiered by ad spend. Easy to budget for. This is how we price.
Percentage of ad spend. The fee rises as your budget rises. It can make sense at very large budgets. It can also reward the agency for spending more, which is not the same as performing better.
Hybrid. A flat base plus a percentage above a spend level.
Hourly or project. Useful for an audit or a rebuild, less common for ongoing management.
What a management fee should include
- Account setup and conversion tracking
- Keyword research and campaign structure
- Ad copy written and tested
- Weekly optimisation, including negative keywords
- A monthly report on leads, cost per lead and revenue
- A regular call to review results
If tracking is not in the list, be careful. Without conversion tracking, nobody can tell whether the ads work.
Our management fees
We publish our prices. Google Ads management is priced by monthly ad spend:
| Package | Monthly fee | Ad spend it suits |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | R6,500 | Up to R25,000 a month |
| Growth | R12,500 | R25,000 to R75,000 a month |
| Scale | R22,500 | R75,000 to R200,000 a month |
There is a once-off onboarding fee, and no lock-in. Ad spend is paid directly to Google and is never marked up. You can build a package and see your total on our home page.

How much ad spend do you need
Enough to collect useful data. Very small budgets learn slowly, because there are too few clicks to see what works. Start with a budget you can commit to for at least three months, then adjust based on cost per lead.
Questions to ask before you sign
- Who owns the Google Ads account?
- Is my ad spend paid directly to Google?
- What is included in the fee each month?
- How will you track leads and sales?
- What are the exit terms?
- What do I see in the monthly report?
The right answers are: you own the account, you pay Google directly, the deliverables are in writing, tracking is set up first, you can leave with notice, and the report shows leads and cost per lead.

Frequently asked questions
How much does Google Ads management cost?
It depends on your ad spend and the agency. We charge R6,500 to R22,500 a month for management, based on the size of your monthly ad spend. Ad spend is paid separately to Google.
Is the ad spend included in the management fee?
It should not be. Ad spend goes directly to Google. A fee that bundles the two makes it hard to see where your money goes.
Do I need a contract for Google Ads management?
Not necessarily. We work month-to-month with 30 days notice. Longer terms are available at a discount.
How long before Google Ads produces leads?
You usually see data in the first two to four weeks, and results settle around month two once enough conversions have been recorded.
Should I run Google Ads or invest in SEO?
They work together. Ads bring traffic quickly and cost money for every click. SEO takes longer and compounds. Many businesses start with Ads while SEO builds.
